Craft challenge ideas: Make to Donate

Challenge: Make to Donate - Create something needed by a charity.

This challenge was suggested by a few of our crafters last year so I’m excited to add it to our challenge list in 2019.

There are lots of organisations out there who welcome or even rely on home crafted donations.

Below are some of the projects the Happy Barnet Craft Challengers have been as well as a list of the ones I’ve been made aware of (I have no affiliation with any of these groups ) however if they aren’t operating in your area, I’m sure there will be similar organisations near you. There are also sometimes Facebook groups for crafters supporting charities so it’s worth asking about or having a search.

This is a crochet bird nest. The Carolina waterfowl rescue needs knit or crochet bird nests. @waterfowlrescue 🐦 You can mail them to CWR Po box 1484 Indian trail NC 28079 🐦 https://wildliferescuenests.weebly.com/ for safe patterns! Definitely for a good cause. There are also some wildlife rescue centers that accept these soft nests for small animals like squirrels or bunnies. If your interested I would definitely do some research. There's a local place in town accepting donated bird nests to mail to the CWR so the first two pictures are of the one I made. Don't you just feel 10x better about life in general when you've done something nice for others?
