A bit about me

Hello! I'm Happy Barnet, aka Laura.

So Why Happy Barnet?

It’s become a bit of a nickname after tagging photos and social media posts with various descriptions of myself including #sleepybarnet, #tubbybarnet, #sillybarnet etc. A friend commented that #happybarnet was her favourite Barnet and it become something aspirational for me; happy barnet is my best self.

What's happybarnet.com all about?

As my headline reads, "happiness is not a journey, it's a lifestyle". I've had a few challenges over the years as many do, with the general ups and downs of life along with health issues including depression, ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) and anxiety.

I've felt the glass half empty at various points in my life but learning that by purposely capturing, noting and sharing when I experience happiness meant I actually felt happier has been one of the best life lessons I've learnt. 

This site started as a blog, it grew to share my crafts and the launch of my shop byBarnet, and in 2024 it became home to The Secret Book Swap too.

Who knows where things will go next, but no matter what’s on the site’s menu, this will always a place where I continue my mission of happiness and share and find new ways to be Happy Barnet x
